Tuberculosis
A Caring for Colorado Foundation Project
The mission of the Asian community organizations is to improve the quality of life for Asian community members.
- In the field of health care, the community organizations have collaborated with the objective of developing and strengthening a relationship with existing state and federal health-care infrastructure while facilitating outreach and communication.
- It is mutually rewarding for such organizations to overcome ethnic and cultural barriers and help the communities receive vital education, training and testing in support of serious issues such as the elimination of Tuberculosis.
The mission of the collaboration is to create a pilot program that can effectively provide the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Colorado Tuberculosis Elimination Advisory Committee (CTEAC) a value-added process for interacting with Asian Pacific communities that are at high-risk for TB. This project will serve as a pilot for the creation of well-managed and well-documented programs to reduce the incidence of TB in additional high-risk communities.
